1981 CJ5 360 V8 - Project Jeep - NOT RUNNING

This is my project Jeep. But life happens and with work and the kid, I simply don't have the time I need to give her the attention she deserves. It does not currently run. I did my homework, read the these amazing forums and articles, and I used best of breed bolt-on parts and upgrades. There isn't a lot of "custom" or "hack" work on this Jeep.

I have about $15,000 into this Jeep so far.

1981 Jeep CJ5
  • AMC 360 V8 from a 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (direct drop-in replacement for the factory 304 V8)

  • Mountain Offroad Bomb Proof Motor Mounts
  • New Water Pump

  • New Proportioning Valve
  • Ford Contour Dual Electric Fans
  • Also have original mechanical fan setup
  • New Radiator
  • Team Rush Ignition
  • New MSD Distributer Cap
  • New Distributor

  • New Alternator
  • T176 (Maybe a T177?) Transmission - Newly Rebuilt Professionally
  • New Clutch - Borg & Beck Type
  • New Throwout Bearing and New Transmission Mount
  • Hydraulic Clutch Setup
  • Dana 300 Transfer Case with LoMax 4:1 Gear Set - Newly Rebuilt Professionally
  • JB Fab Twin Stick Shifter for Transfer Case
  • York AC Compressor that I was going to use for on-board air.
  • Jeep Wide-Track Axles Front and Rear
  • AMC 20 with Professionally-Welded Tubes and Drum Brakes
  • Detroit Locker with 4.10 Gears - Professionally Installed
  • New Timkin Wheel Bearings Front and Rear

  • 1" Daystar Body Lift
  • New Painless Wiring Harness - Partially Installed
  • New Gauges: Oil Pressure, Voltage, and Tachometer
  • Original Speedo Cluster
  • Tube Fenders
  • Also comes with original fenders.
  • Stock Windshield, hood, and roll bar.
  • Gray Seats, in decent shape.
  • Rhino Lined Interior

Needs Heater Unit - Disassembled and never reassembled.
Dash is in kind of rough shape. Previous owner cut it for radio and speakers

There is the Jeep, and then a collection of parts in a storage unit, like the seats, hood, roll bar, etc. The Jeep is all here, it's just needs to be completed, something I simply don't have the time to do.

Cash only, you must arrange to transport it to your location. I am located in the eastern suburbs of Atlanta, about 45 minutes NE of downtown Atlanta off I-85
