08 Grand Cherokee Overland AWD CRD (Modded)

****Tax season Price Reduction*** $11,500. Selling our 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland Edition with the Mercedes Benz 3.0 liter V6 diesel engine. Non-smoking household. Vehicle has a black exterior with the peanut butter brown leather seating. Front and rear seats are heated. Power sliding moonroof/sunroof. Trailer towing package. Driver and passenger power adjustable seating. Navigation system and rear backup camera. Boston Acoustics sound system with Sirius Satellite radio. Remote start, keyless entry, block heater, heated power side mirrors. Adjustable driver pedals. Dual climate control and AC was professionally serviced in the summer of 2017 by Richfield Service. New windshield installed summer of 2017 (previously repaired stone chip began to crack).

26 mpg or better (highway)

186,500 miles and is still utilized as my wife's daily driver. Primarily country roads and long distance highway miles. Turbo was replaced about 4 years ago by Hucksdorf Diesel and a new improved electronic turbo actuator supplied by XSBoost Turbochargers http://www.xsboostturbochargers.com/...tor-2007-2011/ was installed December 2017 by the Uptown Jeep dealership. New fuel filter installed December 2017. In 2016 the Uptown Jeep dealership installed new heavy duty Bilstein shocks, serviced the transmission & differentials, installed a new serpentine belt, new starter cable and new ECU. All new glow plugs and fuel injectors were installed in February 2017 by Richfield Service. New 900 CCA battery installed March 2018.

Upgrades include:

Green Diesel Engineering Performance Tune with DPF and EGR delete files
(Green Diesel Engineering Site) http://www.greendieselengineering.co...ne/2_28.action
Black Chrome summer wheels with wheel spacers and Falkien Ziex ZE 950 A/S 264/60/R18 summer tires with tire pressure sensors (tires and sensors were new in spring of 2017). Outside tire walls sit just inside the fender
OEM 18" wheels with Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2 winter tires with tire pressure sensors (front Blizzaks were new in December 2017 and rears were new in November 2016).
Tire pressure sensors provide live monitoring of actual tire pressures on the dash panel.
CB Engineering Full EGR delete
CB Engineering DPF delete pipe
CB Engineering oversized intercooler
CB Engineering aluminum intake pipe and silicone tubing
CB Engineering Crankcase Ventilation Relocation Kit plumbed to the exhaust pipe
CB Engineering Turbo Resonator delete pipe
(CB Engineering site) https://cb-engineer.com/t/om642-engine-parts
AFE Dryflow lifetime air cleaner
Upgraded heavy duty alternator and grounding wires (Uptown Jeep dealership installed)
Weathertech front, rear and cargo floor mats
Aftermarket cabin air filter housing and cabin air filter. (These Grand Cherokees did not come with cabin air filters for some odd reason).
Auto-leveling headlight feature is disabled and they are now manually adjustable. You'll be glad they are disabled unless you want to throw money for repairs at them every 2-3 years.

Parts included but not installed yet - new heavy duty front and rear sway bars, 2 OEM oil filters, Halo style fog lights.

Cons: Paint on the aluminum hood is starting to peel and there are 2 small areas with paint starting to bubble up on the liftgate and one small spot on the roof/windshield edge.

Vehicle runs great and these same Mercedes 3.0 diesel engines are used in commercial Sprinter Vans that routinely have in excess of 300,000 miles put on them. This GC was originally purchased to tow a 18.5' Lund Tyee which it did effortlessly a few times but about the only thing it really tows is a 12' utility trailer several times each year.

Pictures are posted in my Gallery as well as Craigslist. Shoot me an email at [email protected]
This ad will be cross-posted to multiple sites.

Will do $10,500 with just the OEM wheels.

Thanks for looking.

I have a CRD in the shop for injector replacement now, with so few still around I'm glad to see these Jeeps can actually last! Did your original injectors last all the way to Feb 2017/180k miles?
Wish I would've found your upgraded 08 Overland in January before I bought my completely stock 07 Limited for the same price!
If you wouldn't mind sharing (perhaps in a private message), I'd be very interested to know what your CRD sells for and where.

1 injector was leaking and replaced with a new OEM injector by the dealer in November/December 2016. The other 5 were tested in February 2017 and 4 had pretty bad spray patterns so i had the remaining 5 replaced with remanufactured injectors with spray patterns that were confirmed good before install. I have no idea when the injectors may have started to go bad.

The vehicle is located in Richfield WI 53076 and I am asking $13,500.

On a separate note. I would advise anyone when changing out glow plugs to ream out the glow plug holes after they are removed and to install new glow plugs using the Permatex copper anti-sieze compound. Do not use the Permatex gray anti-sieze compound. I found this out the hard way and had to have one head removed, one glow plug extracted and one machined out by a local machine shop that works on heads and is well versed in this issue.

Mercedes does not specify a maintenance schedule for glow plugs but they should. It would certainly make life easier for 3.0 diesel owners if they removed all 6 glow plugs, had the holes reamed and new glow plugs installed with copper anti-sieze coumpound, say every 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. JMHO.

On the plus side, while the head was removed, it was an opportune time to have the CB Engineering full EGR delete kit, CB Engineering Intercooler and CB Engineering Turbo Resonator delete pipe installed/fitted. My mechanic welded in additional frame bracing to ensure structural integrity of the frame is not compromised by the amount of metal that had to be trimmed to make room for the oversized intercooler.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

Mark

Do you remember about what you paid for each injector and how much it cost to have installed? Seems like you've put a lot of labor into your Jeep, my hats off to you!
The copper anti-seize compound is a spray that goes on the glow plugs thread? By reamed do you mean simply having the threading thoroughly cleaned and cleared of debris?

I'll have to dig up my receipts for the injectors. New OEM was ridiculous, however, the remanufactured injectors were a little more reasonable. Labor cost was not an issue since the intake system and injectors were already removed to access the head that had to be removed. It was a no-brainer to install re-conditioned injectors and not the ones with 180,000 miles on them.

The Permatex anti-seize compound that i previously used (gray color) is a pasty/slimy goop that is normally applied with the brush attached to the container lid. I assume the copper formulation would be much the same.

Due to the interest i received from this site and a couple others, I will be detailing the vehicle this weekend, snapping a few pictures and posting them to my local Craigslist. If permissible, I'll post a link here instead of attempting to post pictures on this site.
