Rear Tire Carrier Suggestion for 2001 XJ

Hello! I am looking to add a rear tire carrier to my 2001 Cherokee XJ. I'd like to be able to have a full size spare, and free up the trunk space. I've looked online for options and am not finding a lot. Any suggestions? Thank you!!

Yea, there's not a lot of companies making carriers for XJs any more, since they haven't built those in almost 2 decades.
Rock Hard still makes one. https://www.quadratec.com/products/72066_700.htm

Or, you could look into a roof rack/basket setup, there's still a lot of those that can work, since many are universal. https://www.quadratec.com/products/12249_763X_PG.htm

Wilco Offroad is pricey, but terrific. Detours of Maine is one of the options Im looking into for my WK2.

Thank you, I am on the Detours of Maine site right now and this looks like it could be a great option since they custom make to fit your make and model. I realize there can't be much of a standard market for what I'm looking for given how long its been since they made XJs. But what can I say, I just love mine and want to make it even better!! . Thanks for your reply!!

I have the Knuckle bone. I use it on our WJ, but I have used it on my wife's XJ too, and it works great. The wedge lock is awesome. No rattle at all.

Thanks for the picture and reply. I do not have a hitch to connect the knucklebone but it looks like that is potentially an easy addition as well with more sources for parts. Looks great on your Jeep!
