ProComp XTerrain Tires

I'm looking to get a set of ProComp XTerrain 31x10.5x15 tires for my 99 Wrangler. I do not have a lift kit on this yet and I was hoping I could upgrade the tires first since winter is a few months away and I enjoy offroading (not rock crawling, mostly dirt/mud). I was wondering if this is a good tire for multipurpose use -- dry/wet/snow road and mud. I also want to know if they will rub w/out a lift kit.

it would fit...might have to adjust the steering stops, but that'll take $.50 worth of washers and about 2 minutes...

but...I wouldn't buy a set of X-Terrains if it was me...just never been impressed with their performance at all...especially at the price...

My cousin has a set on his s-10 (5in trailmaster) IMO they are pretty good, but he also has a locked rear end. We went offraoding a few weekends ago and I was very impressed by them. I'm thinking of trying them in 33s when my BFs run down.

As for the wear his seems really good. He said he had about 3,000 miles on them and they still looked brand new.

They're not that great of a tire and they don't wear all that well. I have a LOT of experience with that particular tire on a daily basis. They look good but I think I'd look at something else. BFG's Mud Terrain is a superb tire for most anything but extreme rock crawling around sharp rocks.

When you have a choice, buy American made.
