Need winter (AT) tires for 99 XJ!

Okay, so winter is fast approaching and I'm getting kind of nervous. Every winter I've had trouble while driving in the snow. Even with my XJ 4x4. I always seem to loose traction. And my Jeep is fine. I believe the problem is my tires. My Jeep is stock and I'm still riding on the tires it came with. They're smooth "tiger paw" tires that look like they belong on a mazda. Yet they still have a good amount of tred.

So I think it's time for some new aggressive tires. But I have no idea what to look for. So suggestions would be appreciated.

I would prefer some large treds that look aggressive and could be used year round.

Something like that would be a good start. And also tires that aren't too expensive. Thanks.

General Grabber at2's are great tires. They are similair to BFGs and cost much less. Where in CT are you from?

I'll be the third poster from CT, like ^ said, bfg all terrains are a very good choice for snow/ice but if you want something less expensive look at the general grabbers. And idk if it means anything but as of right now it looks like its gonna be a damn cold winter for us CT boys and most of the northeast

I've been looking at Yokohama Geolander A/T-S they are about $87 free shipping at Discount Tire Direct, But there I think tire rack has them cheaper so send the an email and they will let you have them for $83 per tire and still free shipping. YOu have to call to order after you get the price match.

Im in NH county as well, Cheshire to be exact. Town fair tire has General Grabbers, or you can get them from tire rack and have a tire place install them for you. ep191 where in CT are you?
