Any chance we can get Goodyear to make these in a 255/85/16. I'm pretty sure that will be my next tire. I'd love to have a Duratrac in that size. That would be the perfect tire for me and many others. You'll know what I mean if you do a search for 255/85s at expeditionportal.com.

Hi everybody,

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new set of Duratracs, and i had a few questions which I don't trust a salesperson to answer honestly. I'd love some feedback.

I got a quote for a set of Duractrac LT295/65R18's for my stock 2007 Sahara Unlimited 4x4. One salesperson said they would fit w/o rubbing, and the other said it would be a good idea to shave the inside of the fender just a hair. Neither could give me a definitive ballpark quote on a lift.

So maybe you guys can help me out here. Do you think these tires will rub w/o a lift? If so, how much do you all think a 1.25" spacer would run me?

Any feedback you could provide would be excellent. Thanks.

Here's my 1yr update:

Got my 31's for the KJ one year ago. Have approx 11,000mi and between 12-14/32 tread depth left. I made the mistake thinking tire rotations would be the same as A/T's. At 7,000mi the front end developed a bad rumble/vibration from the tires becoming cupped, and the alignment was still spot-on. This in my only complaint so far..........anyone thinking of getting these need to treat them like M/T's and rotate at every oil change, or between 3-5,000mi. My initial concerns of the seemingly thin sidewalls have yet to prove out, as I've spent a fair amount of time offroad with them without a single flat, cut, or bruise, and only minor chipping. If I had been more aware of my tire wear and rotated accordingly, all tires would be at 14/32.......meaning, at 11,000mi I've used right at(taking the avg for all four) 5/32, or roughly a fourth of the usable tread. Should get right at 40,000mi out of these with continued good rotations.

I just got a tire road hazard replaced so i figured I would post a wear comparison between brand new, and my other tires which have around 20,000 miles on them

Just got back from the tire shop with a set of 4 275/65/18 Duratracs. Here's a before and after image. The spare's the same one as before. It already rides a lot smoother.
