Is -44 mm offset too much?

I am doing some wheel research and looking to buy a new wheel and tire setup from custom offsets.com there are some nice wheels that have a -44 mm offset. Now I know that a negative offset means it will push the wheels out from the body correct? If I pair this wheel with 35 inch tires, will I have rubbing issues at all? Will it rub against the stock step bar under the doors or no? Thanks!

Positive offset pushes them out. Negative tucks them in more. All OEM JK/JL wheels are -44 offset, so youíre keeping it stock.

Are you sure? I’m really confused now. I thought negative offset pushes the wheels out towards the road.

Sorry! I donít know what the hell I was thinking. You are correct. OEM Wrangler wheels have a + offset of 44mm.

Thad alright haha. Okay so if I get -44 offset then they will stick out a lot right? Do you think I will
Have running issues with a 37 inch tire on a 3 inch lift with -44 offset? I will mainly be driving on highway and light off road. I also think I will get a tire width of 12. Thoughts on a set up like this?

I found a setup that is close, but not exactly like you described.

Another close setup.

If no one else chimes in, you might consider reposting this in the JL-specific forum.

For my taste, I feel like they’ll stick out too much, but go with what you like.
