08 GC Limited Wheel/Part Number Help.

Hello All and thanks for your assistance in advance.

I have noticed with my 08 GC Limited and looking up part numbers on different dealer sites that there are now many discontinued part numbers. Ok, fine I get that, but, how can you find original part numbers? For instance - now that some of the parts are discontinued, the part numbers have changed. If anyone remembers 10+ years ago, you used to be able to find a parts manual for every vehicle. Of course outdated soon, but at least you had original part numbers. I guess my question is - I need new wheels, among other things. Supposedly my part number for the wheels for this vehicle is - 1DG86PAKAA according to a mopar website, but I found the following - 1DG87PAKAA - once digit off(7) even though the parts seem the same. Anyway to find out if it was superceeded, will these work, difference, etc? A

Look on the inside of the wheels for markings. There will either be an original part# and/or a 3 letter code (WFK, WPP, or WPC on an '08 limited) cast somewhere in there.
But as you mentioned, the original part #s are pretty much discontinued or superseded. Any new part # may have differences, usually in color/finish. You're not likely to find an exact match in new wheels.
Even if you can find them, factory rims are excessively expensive. For the cost of just a couple new factory wheels, you could get a full set of very nice aftermarket ones. Something to consider...

I would peruse ebay. There are a lot of used WK1 wheels there.
