That makes me feel somewhat better. I've been doing 130 miles a day for 32 years. I bought my last brand new car 2009 corolla and it's clock is at 250,350 as of today. I think I might even own one of the white lines on the jersey turnpike with all the money they squeeze out of me everyday. Funny my 96 ZJ only has 165,000.....HUM!

I retired in June after 30+years in public education but still work for them part time. The ZJ is also semi retired, it started out as my daily driver, when I got the WK 5.7 Hemi in '09 kept it as a second vehicle, then gave it to my son when he got his license. He drover it 4 years, then up graded to a new '17 Wrangler Unlimited Sport. Now I still drive the old ZJ about half the time and the WK the other half. ZJ has about 176,000 on it, WK about 105,000.

It's great to hear from you and I'm very sorry to hear about the health issue. But I'm glad you're up and around. I was trying to decide if I needed to call you. I knew you were most likely still above the sand but I figured you were either fishing or just pissed at Jeeps altogether. How long have you been recovering?

I too am real glad to hear from you coralman my friend. Sorry for your health issues but glad you're still working on your ZJ while able to work. And know you still have to be a fisherman extraordinaire while take care.

She’s gone. I moved to Colorado and left her in storage in Alabama. After a year in storage I gave her to the friend that was keeping her. 232k and a grinding pinion. Using zero oil. Not a lot you can do with a 2wd in the Rockies. Best service I’ve had from an engine and tranny Thanks to all for all of your help over the years. Peace, out!

Retired almost two years ago at 60. Thinking of that third ZJ but it likely won't happen.....unless I see an offer I can't refuse.

I saw the Craigslist ad 32 minutes after it was posted for $200 and owned it within the hour, and drove it home.
'96 Limited 4.0.
I will get busy on it in the spring.

Congrat's on the great deal on a Limited. Can't go wrong at the price. Good luck with the project.

Thanks! The "Black Jeep of the Family" has the highest mileage of our four, but there is very little rust aside from the rockers. I plan to keep it stock and do what it takes to make her go another 245,000 miles.

Wow, whenever I think about my ZJ I often think of Zeejay and Uniblurb. They are iconic to this forum. They helped me immensely in my ZJ formative years. Now I'm somewhat proficient and the old Jeep has been doing so well, thanks to them. Godspeed Zee!!

Thanks dodgemahally and Zee taught me everything when I first started on this forum. Farewell 97 4.0 and my 96 4.0 is still going although that slow oil leak from the head onto the engine block will be here to stay forever. Who doesn't have extra oil! Lol.

PS. enjoy Colorado Zee and beautiful state!

The best thing about using this forum was taking what I was learning and putting it out there for others to use. It actually turned into a virtual log for all of the problems I had with stalls. Several times I had to look up my own posts to see what I did the last time it decided to take a crap 😀 Y’all keep up the good fight.

Haha..... As long as I have a full shop I'll soldier on. I'll never forget somebody on this forum said that you better have a full shop if you own a ZJ! Probably true.
