Zeppa front driveshaft on a NP242
I have a 1996 Limited that had a NP249 that failed. I put in a NP242 instead and had to redo the rear driveshaft (ISY vs OSY). The front though has a zeppa, and it seemed a little tight when I reinstalled it. According to the sticky on this ( https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/...1-np242-685644 ) it said the NP249 and the NP242, other than different tails, had the same dimensions. I am guessing not, at ride height the FSM says the boot should be at 5.61", mine is at 5.0" so the NP242 must be 1/2" shorter. Does anyone know if I am running the risk of bottoming out that zeppa? It is at factory height and I have no plans for lifting it. I cannot seem to find what the min / max is for the zeppa travel. It does have the adjustable propeller shaft, but I am told that is not actually adjustable after installation. Thanks!
249 and 242 have the exact same front case halves and same front output yoke. So they measure exsctly the same as far as front DS length is concerned.
