xfer case removal

Sorry if this has been asked before. I am dismantling my 96 ZJ. Do I need to remove the xfer case before I pull the engine and trans? Or can I remove all 3 at once? Unsure if the xfer case will fit through the trans tunnel.
Thanks in Advance!!

You can pull the whole enchilada if you really want to, but I've always dropped the t-case to make things easier.

Having never done that, I would think it would NOT fit - but that's just my opinion. I'd remove it from the transmission first (easier to remove both parts then - engine/trans and TC).

I don't think it would hurt to try - if it doesnt work at least it would be easier to reach the top few bolts on the transmission to TC though!
