Where to get a cat for decent price

Last night in the highway my catalytic converter broke in half, and now I need to replace it. The junkyards don't have any, where can I find a replacement for a low price?

Yeah, cats are never in junkyards. Worth more as scrap for the metals, and maybe also some EPA regs there.

Just pick up a cheap high flow cat online and have a local shop weld it in. IMS they should run in the $60-$80 range. For your 98 you'll need one with a O2 bung or have one added.

Get a Magnaflow High Flow Cat from Kolak. Can't beat the performance, or price.

I got a code for a cat inefficiency on bank 1 for my nissan titan and did alot of searching online found which ones were legal for my crappy state (CA) and bought it from amazon for $260 installed it myself. all the others that i found were from $800 up to $1100

If you can drive it, fly it, or bang it.... rent it.

I also vote for Kolak exhaust system, but if you're on a shoe string budget, Amazon has an AUTOSAVER88 cat for $99 with the bung in the appropriate place. I can't speak for performance yet, but fitment is pretty much stock. I think its an inch shorter/longer.

I second that, quality is the same as my magnaflow I bought 6 years ago back when those were only a hundred bucks or so.

Hey I was shopping online and do you think

MAYASAF 2.5" Inlet/Outlet Universal Catalytic Converter, with O2 Port (EPA Compliant) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084G6PXFK...ing=UTF8&psc=1

Will throw any codes? My buddy said it will be louder on the deep tones but it's so cheap.

As long as you don't need to meet California emissions it should work. There won't be much change in the exhaust note. The stock cats aren't that bad.
