Came up with a master plan of cheapness for the license plate mount for my spare tire carrier.

Gonna get to largeish pieces of plastic and connect them with some pcv plastic and connectors with locks nuts, run it though the axle hole of the wheel and drill holes to fit it over the studs on the carrier.

Shouldn't cost more than $5. Have most the stuff sitting around already.

We drove 150 miles round trip for a 2000 xj with 117k on it

1800

Some minor dings that i can knock out in a weekend and,a weird noise that may just be the exhaust rubbing on crossmember.

Noticed a coolant leak under the jeep... Hooked up a the presure check. Found one of my heater hoses with a leak where it joins to the metal piping on the water pump. Hose clamp later, leak fixed. Reburped/refilled the system all is well now!

I'd replace it all at once. If you can. Especially the hated bypass if you have the beloved V8.

I did that hose when i did the water pump, thermostat etc.. It was the side heater hose that was dripping.

Did the plenum. Found several bolts in the manifold and plenum that lost all there torque but yet weren't loose. Did the gaskets shrink??

I got my parts (most of them anyway) from Rock Auto, so I replaced the other hatch struts. Then I filed a claim for missing parts from my order. Got the whole a/c system (basically), except for the compressor and gasket kit. Nothing important, right? Oops.

When I did mine, I chased the bolts and the bores w/ a die and a tap.

Then I threaded every bolt into every hole by hand until it stopped, to verify that the bolt head would bottom on the pan w/o a gasket. That way when the additional gasket thickness is added the bolt would be clamping, not bottoming in the bore.

Anybody have any daily liveablity complains from going doorless?

Probably just taking off the front, so I'll still have my tweeters and rear door speakers. Not worried about the mirrors.

Mostly like, any complaints about comfort and simplicity opening and closing the doors and side electrical issues after disconnecting the electrical connectors and re connecting them.

Never had them off except to weld in new rollers, but repeatedly taking them on and off would make me worry about the frailty of the connector. They aren't that beefy. Along with the small wire sizes. I might try to come up with a heavier disconnect and play with the wire sizes.

Info on projects and repairs categorized by system

Three days. Three straight says I spent wrenching on this ZJ in my Coolant system repair attempt. I've got it working. No leaks. But I did encounter some problems along the way as some might have seen.

I'll be making a separate thread for an issue I still have, but at least she's up and running.

It will continue to ping a bit for about a week or two.
Run some seafoam through the brake booster line to get rid of some carbon build up.

I got word back from Rock Auto about the missing parts from my order. They appologized for the mistake and are shipping the missing parts immediately. From report of the issue to resolution in less than 24hrs? Good customer service in my book. I think I'll be using them in the future.
