Maybe not interesting to some, but I dipped my wheels and mirrors today. The flat black looks great on the white jeep, hides a ton of imperfections too. Slowly the gold trim is disappearing...need to take some pics tomorrow as the time change got me and I finished when it was already darker out...stupid time change!!!

Took her to get inspected so the state of massachusetts can claim she is safe to drive.

Passed with flying colors.

Fixed intermittent low beams 97 ZJ Grand Cherokee

After replacing both the light switch and the combination dimmer switch, my problem with intermittent low beams persisted. Then I fixed it!
Try this test. Turn on the low beams. Then hold the Tilt Wheel lever and tilt the steering wheel up and down while observing the lights. In my case the low beams would go out with the wheel in the down position. The problem was that the wires for the low beams had loosened from the connector to the combination switch. Pushing the wires securely into the connector was the ultimate cheap fix. Took less than 20 minutes, as fortunately I have the T-15 torx bit with the hole in the center that's necessary for removing the security torx screws that secure the combination switch to the steering column. Once the switch is hanging you can easily get at where the wires enter the connector and poke them in with a small screwdriver.
The wires are violet/orange and right at the top of the connector.
Good Luck!

Found one of my power steering lines is leaking. Topped off the reservoir and put it on the list.

Hoping all my parts will be here by next weekend. Getting more and more excited to get out of the "stockers club" and into the "almost stock club but technically lifted club" lol.

Replaced an idler pulley and serpentine belt. tightening the belt on this '93 was a bugger.

Locked 44a or open d35 with 35s....

It would be nice to have some kind of traction assist but if the 44a won't hold up then ill just continue to run the 35 open

Edit: won't be seeing above around 2500 rpm on the trails anymore after 35s are on so if a 44a will do alright I'll swap and i plan on a truss and skid with either axle

A 44a is a much better option than a 35c but I want to see how long the 35 will last.
