So I said screw it, new pads, rotors, parking brake shoes and hardware for the back. I have the parking brake adjusted so It will hold in reverse, and DRIVE! Best it's ever been. Today I tackled my rear upper control arms to try and get rid of an annoying squeak that I had initially though was coming from the parking brake springs. So I slapped on new uppers in the back since my lowers are new. Lost one nut in between the frame rail and control arm mounting bracket, but I was able to fish it out by getting creative with a wire clothes hanger. The bushings didn't look horrible, but there was some cracking. Now time to shower and go test it on some bumpy roads and hope that that f****** squeak is history!!
The squeak is still there! Back to the drawing board I guess. The only thing that hasn't been replaced in the rear is the track bar. I guess I'll swap it out next. The wired thing about it is it takes a good 1/4 - 1/2 mile for it to start squeaking. I though I had gotten rid of it. I was going over a really bumpy road and hit a few speed bumps and I didn't hear anything. Then after I'd say 1/2 mile it started and was just as bad as before. Arggh

I can't even break the nut loose. I snapped my breaker bar and an extension I had.. It got ruined because of my caliper that locked up.

This. We got 15 inches of travel out of the last one I built. Plenty for a lcog rig. But the diff was junky.

OUCH! Sounds like you will have to get a new shaft. Undo the three hub bolts and pull the entire thing out...

I know my axle nuts where on there TIGHT! The inpack took a little time breaking them loose

In Dana We Truss

I have been slowly building up a Dana 44A rear end for my ZJ to replace my 220k+ mileage Dana 35. It has new bearings, a Lokka locker, and is almost ready to go.
As I am potentially worried about the issue of the aluminum differential case flexing on the steel axle tubes, today I ordered a Truss kit from Ruffstuff Specialties.

The drivers side was pretty easy to do, but yeah the passenger side won't come loose. I will just replace the shaft at the same time and maybe cut the hub off of the old one so I can have it as a spare

Maybe the smaller vehicles work with them better but on the Ford i can't any flex out of the front.

It's not a stock ford suspension, it's just using the ford arms as a starting point.
