Also, is there a build thread on this beast?

I haven't made one I guess I should make one. I don't have Internet so I post everything from my phone. Kind of a pain when you can't organize a nice thread from the phone. I might go spend some time at families and make one.

This should probably be in the R/C section of this forum, but I know you fellow ZJ freaks will like it, so:

I've been working for 3 months on a 1:10 scale ZJ R/C crawler to replicate my 1:1 scale ZJ.
I'm building it from scratch(by hand) out of aluminum coil stock so it will dent up like my 1:1 scale ZJ!

It's not perfect, but it's pretty close to scale.
It's also not finished, but it's getting pretty close!!!

Check out my build thread!!!

Putting a 50" light bar on, might end up mounting to hood, seeing if anyone else has done that?

I think some people have problems with the glare off the hood.

I'm afraid I'd have to build a rc crawler/pre runner if a zj body was in production

Yeah, usually sucks for glare and doesn't put light where you need it.

I have a 52" curved. It's awesome for trail use or general night use, but it does not penetrate the distance real well. It gives you a lot of 'comfort' lighting so you can see things near to you very easily, the glare off my hood isn't terrible but I am going to fix that by painting the raised portions of the hood. You will also be able to see every scratch in the windshield.

If you want light that will shine out some distance then you are going to need some spot lights. But otherwise the light bars are good for general area lighting.

You might be able to do that too, the glare off the hood will still be your biggest problem but some plasti-dip can take care of that problem in about 5 minutes.

For reference, here's my light bar and LED spots. The house in the distance is approximately 900 feet out. Difficult to see on the cell phone camera, but you can see it with your eyes no problem.
