I was frustrated by the non-linearity and lack of markings on the Jeep temp gauge. As I am a retired EE and rather bored, I decided to figure out exactly what those hash marks correspond to. I posted the result here: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/j...dings-3287145/

Awesome! I've always just kinda guesstimated at what they meant.

FWIW, if you have auto climate control, there's a way to make it spit out the current engine coolant temp on the display via the diagnostic features.

Spent all day replacing the defective heater core, will wrap it up tomorrow. Leak was in the corner at the bottom It wasn't bad at all but would have gotten worse. Very little coolant in the bottom of the housing. While I have crap torn apart, gonna install new cig lighter and socket, change lighter ring light to blue if I have an LED that will do it. Put in the new VIC with the blue filter. Make a formal disconnect plug for some circuits I ran a couple of years ago, change the glove box to blue LED.

Installed my fire extinguisher to my bracket I made yesterday. Works great and the electric seats still move freely.

Well I was hoping to wait to replace the rear axles and rebuild the rear diff (clutches gone and has 190,000 on her) but the passenger axle must have been even worse than I thought I put some rear bearings in three weeks ago and the the right rear started humming again today. I am looking at a set of USA Alloy upgrades. If anybody has any suggestions for brand let me know.

Picked up 40 pavers for my other shed base, 600 lbs worth, squatted the back end 1 3/4". Would have used my trailer but it's full of "dump run" stuff...

Saturday/sunday morning I raised project cheap jeep another 2".
I couldn't couldn't get my damn JKS bar pin eliminators off my off pro comp shocks, so I had to get new shock bolts from a hardware store and used my teraflex bar pin eliminators that I was wanted to sell..but oh well..

Installed 2" skyjacker coil spacers (that i've had brand new for almost a year), threw out the beat coil isolators and also installed RE monotube shocks for an XJ with 5.5-7.5"...got all 4 brand new for $100 and it was just too good to pass up..... and this is how she came out..

Note: still need to lengthen my front lower and upper arms a bit, but she's been riding around fine.....minus this tiking/flapping/lawnmower noise i'm getting when I hit the gas. Pretty sure it's just an exhaust leak or bc I broke my PVC valve..which i'm taking care of tonight

Finished the heater core, installed the reconditioned niner dash trim pieces, shift knob, shift bezel, console lid......and the blue VIC. My camera washs it out for some reason, its really blue. The blue filter lessens the door open symbols but you can still see them.
