You are exactly right. the tube fits inside the 4inch K&N filter and i tightened it over that stock tube. It is a very snug fit.

It also seems to be a very strong stock tube so i dont see it collapsing from to mush suction. Then again K&N filters let so much air in. I dont see how it could collapse.

I really do need to get to deep cleaning the IAC and throttle body.. Had to battle a 2,000rpm idle earlier today, it didn't wanna reset. Had to mash the gas pedal when starting to get it to go back down to normal. At least now that the weather is being nice during the days, I can hopefully get the headliner pulled tomorrow, and get the throttle body cleaned next weekend. That tire on the roof has crazy loud wind noise off the straps O_o

Went out and picked up a refurbished Clarion NX509 7 inch Nav. I plan to throw it in the 96 zj. More than likely cancel out the 2 a/c heater vents below the stereo. Has anyone done this?
I was thinking i can cut along the red line and make it look o little better than just cutting halfway into the vent holes.

That's gonna take some interesting fab work.. I'm not sure how the 96+ is laid out, but mine has a LOT of stuff that would have to be cut and rerouted to fit it in there. Vents can just be boxed off, the supports for the radio would be interesting tho. If you do it, take lots of pictures! That'll be a sweet build log piece

I finally got my headliner back in last night. You don't realize just how much noise it cancels until you run around without it for a week.

I thought the same thing when I had my rear carpet out. The PO had a battery explode in the back of the Jeep like a week before I bought it from him. I pulled the carpet and cleaned everything up. I had the carpet out for a couple weeks while I was visiting Pick N Pulls to get good rear carpet. When I got the "new" carpet in there, it was a night and day difference with the noise.

my 88 sierra 1500 was like that. the headliner was beyond trashed and the backing board was not so good so it was just pulled down and left down, ran it that way for a few yrs. omg that rain going down the highway sounded like quarter sized hail bouncing off the roof at times..

Sorry for those who responded, just saw. Leaking from the rear because its a push in style on the dana 35. Wish they had used a threaded bolt. Might leak fluid somehow when its sloshing around back n forth.

Also look at badgers tablet install, to get an idea of the fiberglass work.

so i finally found my "leak" in the brake system......

so, since i had to pull the master cylinder i figured i would pull the inoperable abs pump and free up some engine bay room/amps in the pdc.
WHat a PITA. there is seriously 7 different size fittings between the prop valve, abs pump, and hard lines. so i decided to just convert everything to 3/16 double flare for simplicty. spent 20$ on the flare tool and 13$ on fittings but it turns this...

into this....

Also, the rear axle is getting some love this weekend...
