Smittybilt DS5-6

Just found these brackets made by Smittybilt. (can't link the website, but just google if you're interested)
They mount on the original roof rails, no need for mods/fabrications.

Has anyone used them?

Planning to get 6 or even 8 brackets and using some steel square bars as crossbars. Should be strong enough to mount my roof top tent.

Thoughts?

Those look like they'd work, the dimensions match up to my brackets. If you can weld, or if you can bribe, you could pretty easily adapt these brackets: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/...l#post23912634

There's a clarification here: https://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/...l#post38129858

The concern I'd have is how tall they are with not a lot of bracing, I'd worry about them folding when side loaded.

Thanks! That's a nice and cheap alternative
I guess it's time to take out the old welding machine
