Rumbling noise at high speed (not constant)

Hi. I have a '97 Grand Cherokee Laredo that has about 230,000 miles on it. Over the last couple weeks it has been making a rumbling/vibration, most often when I'm driving over 60mph. The speed at which the noise occurs (usually between 60-75) seems to be tied to the RPMs. If the noise is at 60, the rpm is around 1800. At 65, 1900-2000. At 70, it's closer to 2100, and so on. Each speed has it's own specific rpm at which the noise occurs. Higher speed = higher rpm.
It ONLY happens when those two factors line up PLUS a light acceleration at the pedal. If I let off the pedal, the noise stops. If I floor the pedal, the noise stops. If I am cruising at the right speed and rpm but not using the pedal, no noise. If I know that the car is cruising just below the magic rumbling trifecta, I can floor the pedal to accelerate and essentially "skip over" the noise.
Just to clarify, this is NOT a constant noise. It only occurs when several factors of speed, rpm, and acceleration line up perfectly.
Any ideas? I could really use the help.
