race tune question

Hi guys,

sunday 17 oct i'll attend a car meeting and there will be the chance to run into some kind of an autocross track.
i'm not really planning to compete in autocross event in a lifted zj, but i'll hammer down and make some proper burnouts.

my tuner is out of town and he won't be able to tune my rig properly in time.
engine is a cammed 360 freshly rebuilt (about 2k miles on it).
full manual tranny.

my options are:

a) stock niner pcm;
b) older sct canned tunes (87/91/93 octanes) to tune a stock pcm.

in order to not granade the engine, which choice will be safer?

thanks

Stock tune ran my 5.9 without any engine pinging, detonation or other unwanted side effects with a mildish aftermarket cam, edelbrock aluminum heads etc... Drove like that for well over a year, heavy offroad use with plenty of WOT action (also on the road) - took me a bit too long before I invested in the custom tune from Ryan Engine and transmission worked a LOT better after the custom tune, with a lot more power.

If I were you, I'd probably stick with the stock tune for now if your cam isn't a whole lot different from OEM. You will feel and hear it if your engine isn't liking the stock tune. Being in Italy, use 98 octane and I highly doubt you'll have any issues. I ran my Jeep with 95E10 most of the time with the stock tune at sea level; Ryan's tune was for 91 octane, so it matches 95 octane in Europe.
