Pros and cons of VIC delete

I'm considering doing away with my VIC as it has always (since I've owned it) given me the COOLANT SENSOR BAD message sporadically. Sometimes it comes on and then goes off by itself; sometimes it doesnt come on at all. I know about the soldering hack to fix it. But I am wondering what the pros and cons are of having it and also doing away with it. Please help as I have returned no results in my search endeavors.

There are no mechanical or electrical issue with getting rid of it. Its mostly just asthetics. You can leave the hole, fab a cover, or go get a switch panel from ZJRetrofit

If I do remove it, would I still get the annoying little beep beep beep, everytime it decides my coolant sensor is bad

Another option is the factory cubby from a JY 2WD 4.0

I am thinking of replacing the VIC with a smaller screen for video. My thought process is to integrate my tablet into the space provided. If not the a standalone video screen that I could hook to my phone

That was an attempt to link the page in that thread where he builds a multi camera trail vision system thing, p488 if it's not.

Jscherb is very cool, but not a ZJ person.

The VIC is purely informational as others have pointed out. Hack to your hearts content.
