New ZJ Battery Cables

After replacing the battery terminal clamps on my '94 ZJ, I've decided I'd like to replace the entire positive and negative cables themselves. Will any generic replacements work? I haven't had much luck finding anything

If you would like to replace the first part w/disconnects by factory it is a P/N: 56018913 . If you would just like to replace it with generic gauge wire and not running anything special look for 4 gauge red and black, I know O'reilly's sells it by the FOOT.

Make your own. It is so much more satisfying when you do.

Defib applied.

I had to cut my battery cables in order to put new battery terminals. One of the positive wires ended up being a hair too short and doesn't properly secure in the new battery terminal, but fits just enough. I'd like to extend that cable if possible. I looked at the cable from under the Jeep, but didn't see any way at first sight. Has any one been able to extend it or did you just end up buying new battery cables?

Make sure you're using OFC wire if you build your own. Do not use CCA.

Make it on your own and you feel it quite satisfying.

I wouldn't even know how to build this. How easy is it to build your own and how easy is it to install new ones?

I'm finally tackling this project soon. Does anyone have a write up on this? I see the ZJ installation guide on CustomBatteryCables.com, but I'm wondering if anyone has a more detailed write up.
