New WJ lift on the market.

Figured I would repost this topic from JU.

NonStop found a new company making lifts for the WJ. It's called Zone Offroad Products which is a division of Sport Trucks USA. They have a pretty cool live chat feature on their site that I went to and asked one of the guys up there dave some questions. The kit comes with whats shown in the picture. Coils are US made to their specs but he wouldn't give me a brand name. Shocks are Tenneco. TB bushings are specialized durometer. All poly bushings, no rubber. Lowers are 16 1/4 eye to eye. They say that they have figured out all caster and pinion angles and the arms are the proper length. The kit comes with rear end links and no fronts. I found this weird but he said that the kit works out just fine. Not sure if I believe him. T-case spacers are just that handful of spacers above the tracbar. No solid block like we are used to. All in all the company seems like a Skyjacker. They make lifts for alot of vehicles but specialize in none. The kit seems okay quality but maybe not as good as say IRO as far as bolt on kits go under 4". Maybe a good cheaper starter kit for some newcomers?

Yeah, they sell ZJ lifts too...

Until I get my no clicky privledge.

I want to add a lift, up until just recently I have been fine with my 97 being stock, but I would like to get a lift, some bigger tires and a nice looking roof rack, I will probably never go trailing but it would be nice to have the option if it comes up.

I had asked a couple questions about it in their Vendor Display thread here....

Your 31x10.5 max tire size seem rather modest compared to other suspension manufacturers offer 32x10.5 without trimming on a 4", is there a reason, other than fitment without trimming and/or different backspacing that you keep your tire size so small?

I also noticed that you do not include front sway bar links, though others do and I was wondering your reasoning for this. I understand that most end up going with adjustable quick disconnects when lifting, but does this make a significant difference having stock length links with this kit?

I think I'd opt for front discos anyways. Would liked to have asked what kind of warranty the springs are under.

Also, where do your spring rates compare to the uber-soft stock ride?

I do like that you offer new LCA's as part of a kit priced somewhat lower than others kits of around the same size without them and I am considering biting the bullet ant hopefully being your first sucess story in the WJ section of the forum here (where you may also want to post a thread about this and see if you can get the ball rolling)
His Response as follows:

The key to fitting the larger tire is to use your OE wheel backspacing. When you use aftermarket wheels that have less than the OE wheel BS, more trimming is required and then a 31 10.50 fits better.

The reason we don't include front sway bar links in the kit is b/c from the factory the sway bar has an upward angle and with the lift is has almost the same angle, just downward. Also, at full droop the factory length links are not overextended. They are necessary in the rear, so we include them.

The spring rate is pretty close to stock to about 10% higher. The main difference in ride will come from our progressively valved shocks specific for the WJ that come with our kit. This will reduce factory "boat like" ride!

Thank you for your questions!

Rick

Man I guess I should of searched the vendors section before I posted this. Just incase someone from Zone reads this, the whole live chat thing is pretty cool.

Did anyone end up buying this kit?

Hmmm, you know how dealers insanely mark down old model cars to get them off the lot? I wonder if we can get a large group buy at a great discount to help them get rid of old product. If so, I'll start it. My gfs WJ needs a lift.

So add up a JF discount ontop of a "product they can't sell and is collecting dust" discount.
