Is it my bcm?

97 zj 4.0 laredo
Im experiencing a few intermittent electrical gliches that only happen once in awhile.
Heres what happens:
Spedo drops to 0 while driving.
Red security light ontop of dash comes on.
Tach goes haywire and bounces.
Door locks lock and unlock randomly(yes they are auto and they lock at 20mph.)
Should i get another bcm?

No driveabilty issues just kinda freaks me out.
Anyone have these issues occuring together at the same time?

Ive had nothing but electric gremlins outta this zj since i got it last year.

Ive had to take the pcm apart and relsolder the pins to cure a intermittent stall and take the headlight switch apart to resolder it as well.

CHRYSLER WHY DID YOU RUIN JEEP WITH YOUR CRAP ELECTRONICS?

My 89 xj still says amc on the block and ive owned it since 2000 and have had less goofy electronic probs out of it.

First gens had a problem with the connector that hooks up on the back of the speedo housing, even though yours is second gen might want to check it anyway. Disco the battery negative, pull the connector and look for corrosion or loose pins. Make sure all your grounds are clean and tight under the hood. I'm thinking I would inspect the wiring at the speed sensor as well. The 20 mph lock feature is normal if it has been activated in the bcm. It can be turned off but will require the drb dealer scan tool to do so. Since all the gauges are fed by the ccd bus if all else fails yep it could be a bus wire problem or the bcm itself. Seems like I remember reading a whacky crank sensor could cause issues but you say its running normal.

That haunted house behavior where the doors randomly lock/unlock coupled with all the other gremlins you mentioned is just about certain to be the BCM.
