Sucks about the leak!
I have the same situation.. I'd lift it but then new tires are 600 bucks and the current ones have under 10k from PO

Thats weird it's leaking, did you torque it all criss cross? Are you sure it wasn't just resedue from when you changed it? That's always possible

Treadwrights are fairly cheap and good tires. My problem is the rim. My rims r garbage and leak

Oh I hand threaded criss cross, then ratcheted criss cross, then final torqued criss cross! Today when I retorqued I criss crossed too. The pan was bone dry when I left work too. Kinda weird but hope the retorque takes care of it. If not I guess ill baby the fluid all winter then try again in spring. All out of love for the vehicle xD

Treadwrights huh? Retreaded bfgs? Where can I find those?

riot1987 11-03-2013 06:04 PM

I ordered mine at treadwrite.com

Yeah I'm definitely buying them when I'm ready to upgrade to 30s. Lookin' at either the Guard Dogs or the Wardens

riot1987 11-03-2013 08:43 PM

Theyre way cheap. I have read lots of good reviews on them as well. I got 5-315/70/R16's shipped to my door for $850. Havent had a chance to wheel em yet though...

The only 30x9.5x15 I see are Pumas. Are they still good?

The tread on those looks like the tread on the Badyears the PO threw on the jeep. I didn't like em and thy weren't to good in the snow. But then again with multiple tread depths and being leaky along with the rims, I would never truly know.

Drove to school today, and still saw a little pan leak. Tomorrow I'm going to try to re-torque again and see what happens. I'm regretting not using RTV now

Either that or it wasn't flat. Using a steel ruler across each hole all turned up level. If I turn it upside down on the flat drive, it would rock a little bit. From what I under stood "check for flatness across each bolt hole" meant what I did with the ruler. I took my dads + uncles advice that "the bolts take care of that" and put it up knowing it rocked when put on level ground.

Not what I wanted to hear D: since I'm only putting 30s on with a 1.75" spacer, not 2". So 31s would be like 40 more and rub
