Heater blower motor going out, have to hit it for it to work.

I have a 97 JGC, and the blower motor is new, I checked the resistor and replaced it, the only thing I can think of would be the wiring from the resistor, back to the heater switch. The blower motor works a short while after I hit it with a rubber hammer, and then it sometimes will stop completely. So mad, because I live in Alaska, and its frustrating to have to hammer the motor, to get the windows defrosted. If anyone has a wiring diagram, that would be awesome! Thank you.

Find the wiring going to the motor. Follow it and unplug ever connector you find. Most likely you'll find a burned wire.

Or could it possibly be the Climate control Module? The heater fails to start, when I turn the key, but with a slight tap on the blower motor, turns it on temporarily, and after a few minutes, shuts off.

Checked all of the connections, and all are good, I'm thinking it's the climate control module.

Did you take the connectors apart and look at them? The blower motor wiring contacts will get corroded and burn up from high current.

There's a blower motor relay that could be a problem.

Here are the schematics. Good luck.

Yes, I looked at the connectors, I was hoping it was that, because the digital climate control module is $170, and not cheap. I've checked everything else. Next I will try with a new module. Thank you.

It is possible that the brushes in the blower motor are toast. Rapping on the motor will cause them to contact the commutator just a bit better. I suggest jumping power and ground to the motor before looking further.

Rock Auto has the blower motors for $30-$40.

Its possible the new motor is bad but he said that he replaced it.

Not sure if the control module would be bad if hitting the motor with a rubber mallet makes it come on.

So I originally replaced the blower motor a couple of years ago, and I think I ended up getting a bad replacement motor, because I just replaced it again, and it's working like brand new!
