I just replaced 1 of my front doors, 4 bolts and disconnecting 2 wire harnesses (they connect a few inches up under the dash). Pretty easy.

yea thats its the 4 bolts clip the wiring harness and boom... one problem i ran into was the dome lights wouldnt shut off so i just unscrewed the little rubber sensor thingy on the door jamb and that solved that problem... i'd get a buddy to help u cuz once u get that last bolt off the doors gunna wanna go south fast!... one more thing unclip the wiring harness before unbolting so u dont have your friend there holding the door still while u try to unclip the harness.... doorlessness is great but on the roads u gotta have a mirror

inside the cluster of wires is a torque bit screw that holds the connector together. Take that off, and you are good to go.

Just race a Jimmy at the next red light. He'll blow the doors right off the thing. :d

So I installed the flux capacitor but the Jeep just won't do 88 mph.

On 96+ ZJ's there isn't a torque bit screw in the harness.

There is a safety clip (should be red), slide it to the other side then there is a tab at the top of the plug that you'll have to press in to pull it apart. It is a tight fit but it will come loose with some patience.

To kill the dome light - just pull the fuse or you can install a switch for it.

My doorless ZJ ...

hmm. I don't remember this "torque bit screw" on my 94. It was just a pain to get that clip off. In fact, I watched the guy wrench my replacement door off another 94 at the boneyard and he didn't take any screw out either, just a PITA clip.

I have no idea what a 93-95 harness looks like. My response was result of OffroadZJ's post and his comment about the screw.

Or for a temporary fix, just unscrew the small push tab on the door jamb to unground the switch. With this discoe'd you'll never get dome lights with the door open.

Okay, who let the spoiled brat in here. Some of us like to wheel with class. Why have a Wrangler, they're all over on the trails. When I go wheelin' I draw attention because you don't see many Grands on the Trails. Wranglers ride like crap, get crap for mpg, are noisy, and are usually driven by morons. I say that because on average one Wrangler a weekend is rolled down where I go by Chiva falls. The roll because they don't think prior to attempting the obstacles.

Enough ranting. I cannot go doorless because I'm hauling three kids with me when I go out. I wouldn't want to have one fall out accidentally.

Why are you lurking in the Grand forum anyway? Nobody likes a hater, were all a freindly group over here, no need for all this. Plenty of other forums that encourage your behavior.

You did cast the first stone...how was your original comment helpful. the guy want's to know about taking his doors off and you tell him to buy another vehicle and then slam a cherokee saying it's not a Jeep.

And how am I bustin your nuts? I just pointed out that there was no need for your original comment. You expect for everything to be all happy happy when you jump into a forum, and slam everyone's vehicle in that forum with your comment.

If your done, I'm sure grygg would like to get some helpfull info since we are so far off topic.

Before you respond back with somehting else hateful, is it worth getting BANNED over. Go read the Rules of Posting and you will see that you are walking a thin line already.
