Valvoline Zerex g-05 is my choice. Green one. I use for both 4.7 and 5.9.

Say wha? G05 is the correct fill for the 4.7 but it is not for the 5.9. It can be used if you flush the system very well. Its in a gold bottle and its a yellow color, not green.

Zerex in the white bottle is what I buy. For some strange reason, a local IGA (food store) is the cheapest place around. I loaded up last time I went.

I'm seeing the Prestone 50/50 Prediluted Antifreeze and Coolant. Is that what you guys mean by "50/50 green"?
LittleFootZJ and Ksim46 like this.

Ive always steered clear of the 'all makes all models' stuff b/c idk what it is. You can buy the 50/50 already mixed or you can buy the concentrate and mix it 50/50 with water. Personally I always buy the concentrate and use distilled water. I dont like paying a premium for water.

What brand of concentrate do you recommend for our ZJs? I would rather mix it myself as well.

Prestone is pretty good, I use that or peak to fill our ZJ's.

Zerex Traditional/Green is what I would also advise, also referred as IAT. It can get hard to come by; I get it through Amazon. It contains silicate and your entire cooling system is coated with it to prevent corrosion. If you use the wrong formula, any trace amount of the old coolant will react with the new one and may be a recipe for disaster. The green coolant requires a 2 years service interval but it's cheap insurance IMO.

Looks like Zerex it is. Just did a quick Amazon search and I'm not seeing that exact bottle that @jeepjeepster posted, but I believe this one is the same right? (just newer design)

Guess Im behind the times. As far back as my memory goes, zerex original has been in a white bottle. Guess they somewhat recently switched to grey.....

Anyway, that stuff is $13 at my local IGA.
