American Wild Wheels ZJ Bumper

Howdy Ladies and Gents,

While perusing the Instagram, I found a pretty slick looking ZJ Front Bumper - made by American Wild Wheels in Italy. I was curious, has anyone heard of or done business with these folks? The bumper looks super clean and mildly reminiscent of the Iceland Off Road ZJ Bumper. Not sure what it costs - they are currently running a quote and I'll be asking more questions about construction, etc. - just thought I'd throw out a feeler here to see if anyone was familiar and share a pic of the bumper (mounted on a 5.9 ZJ).

That is the first non-stock zj bumper I have seen that I like. Especially for a 96-98. I would be interested in one.

That's a good looking bumper. Therefore it must cost 5K+ and they will only produce 1 per year, with a waiting list longer than a phone book.

I’m just wondering what freight shipping from italy would be . . .

That isn’t a complicated design though, wouldn’t be hard for a shop to duplicate.

Only thing I don't like is the shackle mounts being bolted on.

That’s common though, the shackle mount bolts through the bumper to the mounts that go into the frame. Even if those are 1/2” bolts, at grade 8 that’s 17k/lbs per bolt tensile. Think you’d rip the bolts through the unibody well before you could exceed 68k lbs on that point.

That is a clean looking bumper. I would like to also see a winch plate cut into the front of it.
I could live with the shackles being bolted on. A weld here and there will fix that.
If someone can duplicate that bumper there's money to be made.

That also a nice bumper.
Not a grill guard fan. Would rather it plain with just a winch.

@Bossman302 I believe you can order it without the grill guard or with a different shape option.

For me if your going to buy an aftermarket bumper why would anyone not want one with a winch plate? Whatís the purpose of an aftermarket bumper without that? Am I missing something?

That looks like it could be made into a winch bumper fairly easy.

Yeah you could shove a winch in there pretty easily with how far that sticks out.

Plenty of reason to run an aftermarket bumper without a winch, solid recovery points and better protection aren’t nothing.
