95 grand cherpkee transmission

I have been having some trouble with the jeep. After talking to the transmission shop that recent rebuilt my transmissions they say it might be the electronic shift module. Does anyone know where this module is located? Is it in the transmissions or mounted elsewhere?

42re . . .

A 22re would be a two speed transmission . . .

The TCM is in the drivers footwell on a 95.
