94 V8 Limited - New Family Toy

Hi!

I'm a few weeks into ownership on this guy.

So far I've replaced all 4 calipers, rotors, pads, & tires and changed out the gas door for an open chute type (XJ Style I think).

Now to scope out the steering system to figure out what is causing back and forth drifting at 65+ on the highway (almost makes me feel like a drunk all over the road) (NOT Death Wobble, yet).

Also have to address the AC system, doesn't blow cold at all.

Feel free to comment if you know what any of the suspension/steering stuff is. I'm a total noob and need to identify everything so I can replace if/when things need replaced.

The facebook group I'm in said it looks like a 3.5-4" lift (RC?) and stock steering.

I really like the Firestone 33x12.5x15's. They are smooth on the highway and performed well when we had it off road here in AZ.

That's sweet! Congrats on the new toy and good luck with the maintenance stuff! I'm disabled and live in a mobile home so, I envy you guys being able to do your own work. Once upon a time, I could save myself some money LOL!

Did you install the top rack or, did it come with it?

It came with the rack and the spare.

I've NEVER done my own maintenance - so this is a BIG learning curve for me.

For instance - I did NOT realize how freaking heavy 33" tires are!

Caution! The ZJ is addictive!

The bad part is that you will spend a lot of money and your wife will be angry!

That's the best part - getting a 4x4 was her idea so we could reach places that have the rocks she's looking for!

Win Win situation!
