Welcome to the forum.

The 46RH transmission has two solenoids, one for lockup one for overdrive.

Everything else is hydraulic, with pressures, springs and valves doing all the control.

It may be that all the control stuff is good, but the frictions have worn out.

Was this all of a sudden, or getting worse over time?

Note that the Factory Service Manual (FSM) is an essential tool for maintaining this vehicle. It is well written, very complete with very few errors or omissions. The transmission section is excellent.

This topic shows my 46RH rebuild.
