242 tail shaft Bent

Just put a 242 tcase in my 93 ZJ. Had a bad leak by the rear output shaft. Went to take off the tail cone and it was cracked so I replaced it and the seal, only to realize the output shaft is severely bent. That being said, can I take the tail shaft out of my 249 and put it into the 242 or are they completely different? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Totally different, sorry. The transfer case mainshaft cannot generally interchanged between models.

That's what I thought.... Dad gummit.... Now to decide if I want to buy a 242 main shaft, or just find a 231 for it.
