1998 JGC 5.9L tune up time.....time for help

Hi all,

I have a 1998 Jeep 5.9L, and it is time for a spark plug change and possibly wires

Can anybody recommend any plugs which might add power or help fuel economy etc?

Does it need platinums, or regulars ...???

thank you all

Just the good ol' plain cheap copper core resistor types are fine with ours!!! Meaning, it's a waste of time and money to get anything more exotic. I went with Motorcraft. Heard good things about the NGK V-Power also, but no parts house had them in stock here where I live.

champion truck plugs. i dont remember of ZJs need to be gapped, but make sure they are gapped correctly.

i just ordered mine from rockauto.com

DONT buy them from the dealer. i called my local dealer and they wanted $6 for a plug that was $2.31 at rockauto.

I do have my Kolak Ignition Upgrade available ya know

This kit consists of Magnecor KV85 wires, an MSD high output coil, brass terminal cap & rotor, and Autolite platinum plugs (one heat range colder than stock for better detonation resistance). I've been selling these kits since 1999 and they are in use by thousands of Jeepers. The kit consists of only the finest available components. If you do a Google search for the Magnecor wires you'll find they are the stuff of legend.

PM me if you'd like more information. JeepForum members get an extra 5% off my regular pricing by the way.

I vouch for the Kolak ignition as Nick mentioned above. After putting it on my 5.9, the difference was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend it.
