1998 front axle ABS tone ring

Hey guys,

I need to replace the axle, the CV is clicking.

I have some spare CV axle but I dont know if the ABS tone ring is the right size, all pictures in the web- it seems wider.

Can anybody comment?

Looks normal to me. The shaft on the left has an OEM tone ring that I removed from my 5.9 CV shaft & installed on the cromo stub:

Yes those tone rings are replaceable. Spicer sells them individually if you need to replace one. I added rings to the XJ axle shafts that I harvested from the HPD30 I have now.

It worked out great, the spare axle shaft is working good

Lower one, is the bad clicking one. Also can see the wider tone ring.

Also replaced the idiotic 12-point OEM bearing bolts.
