1997 Jeep G. Cherokee Laredo 5.2 Scrap? Daily Drive? Flip?

So i have the opportunity to buy a '97 G.C. Laredo for $150, it apparently only needs an *INTAKE* manifold replaced. transmission is good low miles, engine apparently ran good as well. I will be acquiring my '98 Jeep G.C. limited 5.9 soon and that's my rig! haven't had the best reliable cars in a while and we could use another vehicle but also the money if flipped. my father in law is teaching me everything and hes confident in this investment and then flip it and make some mula! so here is my question, fix it and use it?, or use it for parts on my rig?, or fix it, sell it, than pick up something more promising as a "daily driver"? don't really mind any of these options... thank you

p.s. is $150 a fair price on a 242 TCase used?

**UPDATE!!!!!! the guy got back to me and its the intake manifold NOT THE EXHAUST!!!!!!!**

There isn't much from a Laredo 5.2 that can be used for parts on a 5.9. They have different transmissions, trim, rear axle yoke is bigger on the 5.9 as is the rear drive shaft, E fan vs. clutch fan, ect. Wouldn't be a good parts truck for that purpose.
If it's nice enough then you could make maybe 1000 bucks on selling it.

150 is average for a 242.

For $150 I'd buy it and use it. It's been really nice having 2 cars because if the Jeep is apart I can use my car to run for parts/tools and the opposite if the car is apart. I'd want to hear it run though or at least turnover so I knew it wasn't seized up. Exhaust manifold should not prevent that. So often people say "oh yeah it only needs this and it will be good to go" but then you find out later they were full of BS.

As for the 242 price, I'm buying one this weekend for about $115 so I'd say $150 isn't terrible.

If it's decent apart from the exhaust manifold, I'd fix it up and have it as a back up. If after a few months you decide it's not worth having around, offload it to someone else.

I'd fix it as a spare. If you wheel you need a daily driver.

Probably needs the plenum pan gasket replaced. I used the Felpro, the Mopar gasket is the skinny one. I got the intake really clean before I bolted it all back up.

For 150 bucks, if it has a clean title, I'd buy that in a heart beat!

You can strip it for parts and make way big money on it, or fix it and sell it complete.

Most likely the manifold gasket is bad, happens on 5.2 and 5.9. But even if it needs an intake manifold my sel serve yards in LA seem to have more 5.2's than 4.0!

I suspect it's 2WD but 4WD would be a bonus pick it up and learn, end the end it can be stripped and sold for way more than you payed for it.
