Who wants to see a ventilated 4.0?

My brother in law has a 94 YJ, just had the 5spd and rear axle completely rebuilt and the block tossed a rod 200 miles later with a total of 106k on the clock. He found another 4.0 from a 94 with 106k miles as well, along with a host of other parts for $500 so we are currently swapping out the motor. Planning to reseal everything before new motor goes in and hope that it runs.

Wow!

Hood vents are much much cheaper

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.

That'll buff right out.

I'm gonna guess it was or had just recently decelerated, say coasting down hill.

My XJ did the same thing when I was stationed in Germany. Lost oil pressure figured the gauge came un hooked, five minutes later boom. Mine was the same rod, same exact spot.

Kid was taking his girlfriend to dinner, was just about to get on the freeway when it let go. He swears he wasn't doing anything crazy. I had just replaced the entire cooling system that morning and told him to put a few miles on it before he went camping later in the week. His father flogged the crap out of it for a few years though before the kid was born, it has air lockers and he loved showing off.

Any competent car salesman will tell you that their mechanic can fix that - no problem.
