Some adhesives and bondo will release if heated with torch or heat gun. Just be aware of ventilation and wear a respirator.
Just the right amount of heat will make bingo peel off like butter.

Who makes a good set of 1/2" boomerang shackles?

I’ve got a set of boomerangs from ruffstuff that were very stout.

4.2 starter bolt

Working on reinstall for a clutch in my nephew’s 88. Inexplicably the starter bolts have disappeared. I don’t know how. We don’t know where.
Anyone know the sizes of the top of your head?
I think 7/16-14x1-3/4 may be the short one?

You know you're gonna find them when you're done rite. There gonna be in the most obvious place and you're gonna be pissed when you see them. Atleast that's what happens to me.

You know how you have parts sitting on shelves for years and wonder when you're ever gonna install it? Well after 3 years..................

maybe. Probably? We didn’t really lose them. Some helpful cleaning happened so they stopped being on the floor by the front passenger tire...

In the meantime we need to buy bolts; either my search terms are flawed or no one ever posted the sizes.

It needed a throwout bearing at the least. Doing the whole clutch with new LUK kit made sense. Discovered on disassembly: missing 2/4 bellhousing bolts, dust shield wrecked, starter pinion destroyed, clutch pilot ground to powder, flywheel surface 0.040” out.

In the course of things I had to weld frame three places including driver’s skid plate mounting points, delete pulse air, major tcase stud repair, bad plastic shift bushing in shift tower, dump blown media out of plugged cat, weld hex nuts to unknown spline lug nuts, fabricate exhaust bracket for trans mount-to-cat-flange...I’m sure I’ve forgotten something.
Just a short list of things that SHOULD be done: RMS, oil pan gasket, rocker cover gasket, delete tcase drop, new longer driveshaft with SYE. Should also be nuttered at the least or 2150 and HEI- he’s been doing about 8mpg on 33s which is way low.
But that’s a lot of time and money all at once as it began with, “my starter grinds and I replaced it twice.”

He sorta got lucky considering.

Tell us more, what’s the rig, how’re you using it, etc.

Got my rear shocks re-mounted. Made some tabs and put the lower mounts about 2" / 2-1/2" lower than they were. They aren't flush with the bottom of the axle anymore, but now they aren't nearly completely compressed when at rest.

Almost Exact (eyeball test) same placement as mine. Just hanging a smidge under the axle. Just a smidge! It was a sacrifice for balance's sake.

Your welds are nicer though

Stop whining about the 'ride' - If your YJ ain't wrangling your soul free, then might I suggest you buy a stationwagon... at least you can fit all your bull**** in the back.
