Rent a storage unit and spray it there. Let it sit two days and call it good.
I agree!
The bedlinered jeeps are hard to work on imho. And the few I’ve seen? The only people who seem to think it ‘turned out great’ are the ones who spent the money on the product, cuz any closer than 30’ they really all looked awful. imho

I am staying away from the exterior bed liner.

Good news, local guy came through and got me a very reasonable quote! The jeep will get painted the proper way!

Crap now I got a week to finish getting everything ready!!!!!!!

Picked up some Poison Spyder armor with welded 3" flare for the cost of dirt and a half tank of gas (in CAD). Never installed. This stuff ain't cheap in Canada. Well, until this transaction that is. . .

Just need to pick up some SS hardware as the guy I picked them up off of lost the hardware kit. Fairly certain it'd be the same as my smittybilt sliders 1/4" counter sunk. Can anybody confirm the hardware size I would need? My initial idea is satin black for paint... but I am going to determine definite color once I have them on.very stoked to cover up my terrible looking monstaliner exterior job *rolls eyes* tsk tsk

Repaired my occasional death-wobble-like disturbance. Decided $100 for a 1:8 reamer is a pretty decent price.

Turns out I should have checked all the tapered inserts before using / installing them!
The two solid inserts at the knuckles were ‘right’ and are fine, but the teraflex split insert used at drag link /tie rod connection only slightly fits the tre big end of the taper; the little end is way wrong. It is big and free to move .0625”+ and visually polished it and the tre to a slightly hourglass shape.

I know this because I bought a new insert and new tie rod end and checked fit. It had virtually the same incorrect fit as the ‘worn out’ pair does!!! So I welded circles inside the old one and gently ran a tapered reamer into the tie rod. A few test fits and reams later I have a decent fit.
And no more oscillating wobble.

Anybody use the Kentrol stainless windshield hinges?

I pulled the set I bought a while back from a junk yard........ Must have not been thinking straight, the one had some serious rust on the back side.

Wire wheeled it then blasted it. The rust is gone but the surface still looks more like the moon then a clean metal surface. My worry is thats a great environment for rust to start so I figure if I am going this far to rebuild this jeep might as well spring for new hinges?

when the dread exhaust manifold gasket you thought you needed to replace turns into a cracked manifold.

guess i'll take this opportunity to go ahead and just bite the bullet ordering a TJ intermediate/collector pipe while i have everything apart. Will go towards the belly up plans later this summer.

while taking everything apart, one of the vacuum lines that goes from the small orifice at the front end of the 2.5L to the largest port on the intake manifold fell apart. Anyone knows what this is called? i need to order one. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Asin, where i can find one or any pointers towards jerry rigging something to work. thanks in advance

That looks about the same size as fuel hose.

yep - was thinking the same and what i was going to do. Didn't think (but also didn't know) if there was any sort of need for it to be plastic/nylon vacuum line as there is no check in it - just a straight through line.

If it doesn't collapse it'll be fine. Fuel hose should be stiff enough.
