Under fender thingies

Hello, I'm relatively new here. I recently bought a 1992 YJ that was kept in stock condition. It has some clean up work to do related to its age but is otherwise in pretty good condition. I did find that the flexible flaps that go under the front fenders and frame to keep splashes from going up into the engine compartment are falling apart. As I intend to restore this jeep to factory like condition as opposed to building it up I simply want to replace those splash flaps. I can't seem to find them at any of the usual jeep parts places because I'm not sure what they are actually called. Does anyone know what the correct name for them is?

Thanks much,

I don't know that you'll find any in the typical aftermarket parts places, probably have to find some NOS.

I think they're just call splash guards.

Welcome to the forum.

They're called splash shields. Or in the parts catalog, they're called "SHIELD, splash. And like timatoe said, don't expect to find any, but you can try.

I do have a complete parts catalog if you want it. I don't have a 92 FSM. But I do have a 91 FSM. If you want either one, send me a PM, and I'll give you a link to download them.

And please fill out your Jeep profile, it helps us help you.

Thanks guys! I'll see if I can find a similar material, remove the ones I have and use them as a template. Much appreciated!

This guy is working on replicating all the splash shields. Doesn't look like he has those ready yet.

This is what I was going to suggest. Some stiff rubber mat should do fine.

I'm surprised there's not some of these that exist out there already. I looked under the jeep yesterday and saw that if you don't put the one on the drivers side fender, the computer is exposed. It looks like that rubber mat splash guard thing provides some protection for the computer getting wet or from the elements.

So, even though these are impossible to find, it looks like they serve a good purpose.

I don't want to sell mine, but I have two not installed yet. I can take pictures against graph paper if anybody wants to draw up a template for them.
