Turn signal trouble

My turn signals don't work very well anymore. I have to jiggle the switch to get either of them to turn on. My bright light switch is also all jacked up. If they turn on i have to really play with the lever to get them to switch off again. I think it might be my turn signal switch. If it is, does anyone know how to replace one? I've been looking around on the forum and cant find a good write up. Also does anyone have any other ideas on what the problem could be? I did recently replace my signal fuses so im pretty sure it's not that. Thanks for any help

Let me see if I can help you find a write up on this somewhere without typing in the procedure from my FSM.

I've changed mine twice. It's not a complicated procedure. Essentially just pull the steering wheel, unscrew the turn signal lever and hazard flasher knob, remove switch with wire harness, replace switch and feed the wire harness back through the steering column cover into the dash, replace steering wheel, turn signal lever and hazard flasher knob.

Also, since your '93 probably has the same circuitry as my '92; if your brake lights ever fail, check your hazard flashers. If your hazards also fail that too is probably the turn signal switch since they both run through it. It sounds strange, but this was the reason I had to change mine the first time.

I'm going through that right now and just ordered the part for it. It requires a few tools you can rent or buy.
Here's one of many write ups I found. http://www.cdmfabrication.com/bbb/viewtopic.php?t=57
Do some searches you'll find lots of answers.

They're 2 different switches. The turn signal switch (which includes the hazards) and the wiper switch which includes the activation of the high beams through an actuator rod.

This may help...

My observations are based on my experiences...YMMV.
