Throttle body question
PO installed a 4.0 TB and a spacer on my 2.5. He also lost the cat and installed a header. Will the 4.0TB cause the exhaust to smell rich?

No. That’s probably due to the cat being gone.

You have a functional 02 sensor, right?

That's what I tell my inspection station every 2 years. I "lost my cat and put a header and magnaflow on it" lol. Yes it will smell like nauseous vapors though....

I do have an O2 sensor. How well it functions is TBD. Basically, no cat, bad smell.

The throttle body lets air in. The O2 sensor tells the injectors how much fuel to add. The map sensor ‘might‘ play bad tricks just off idle.

In short, if the O2 sensor is working properly the fuel out put should be the same as ‘stock’ with just a bit less intake air charge restriction (potentially better volumetric efficiency). The computer should ‘learn’ how to deal with any map sensor confusion pretty quickly. Probably the only residual if any will be a few milliseconds linger of ‘bog’ when In gear at idle and stomping it to WOT.
