1994 RHD YJ

Stock suspension and original paint job. 50,000 miles and minimal rust. She is a 4.0 auto in RHD. Hard top with a full spare on the rear. No winch or any other extras yet. When I measure the rims are 16" and the wheels 29" or 31" depending where I measure from.

I am the fourth owner. The first bought it to haul his market stall 2 miles from his house to his market plot and nothing else. He used it for 20 years until he passed away. His son in law inherited the market and Jeep but after a couple of years sold both. The owner before me is a great block in the north of England who buys and sells YJ's in an ongoing obsession to make his "perfect" YJ. It was going to be this shell until he found a '95 Sarah, which he is keeping. Hence He sold me mine.

These pictures were taken in July but I have only done restoration and modernisation (put some newer bulbs in, Bluetooth stereo etc) since. The only new feature not pictured are some subtle black steps I've put on her.

AcidRaiN, 1988 4.2L 5Spd. I traded off a motorcycle for this jeep, got her from an old man. It looks like he maintained it mechanically and only painted the outside. She was originally white. She runs well, I drove her home 100 miles the day I got her.

She doesn't appear to have any mods, maybe slightly larger tires and rims. They kind of look like TJ rims to me.

Here she is!

1990 YJ "Black Betty"

I have owned this Jeep for some 15 years. It was abandoned at a parking garage for two years. I was able to purchase it for the cost to tow it away ($175). It was covered in dust and missing a fan belt. I replaced the fan belt on site, and the battery still had enough juice for it to start! The Jeep was rough and needed quite a bit of work, but it ran. Over the years I have maintained and lightly modified it to the current state. I regularly drive cross-country with this Jeep and my M416 trailer.

stock 4.2 and AX-15
D30 front and D35 rear axle.
Home made front and rear bumpers from scrap steel that I had laying around.
31" tires.
Stock M416 trailer with original 1964 milspec tires. Yes, I have driven this rig cross-country several times.
Front tow bar because I sometimes flat-tow this Jeep behind my Deuce and a Half.
Skeleton dashboard - all plastic and cladding removed.
ECU removed. The stock BBD carb is still running perfectly.
1949 Dodge horns.
Low-back CJ-7 seats.
Rear track bar delete.
2" body lift. Stock springs and shackles.
Spare is bolted to the floor in the rear - rear seat removed - with a custom removable table over the cargo area so that I have a flat surface in the rear from fenderwell to fenderwell.
Military blackout light up front.
Pioneer rack with shovel, axe, and mattock on hood.
Jerry can holder left rear corner.
CB antenna right rear corner.
Old-school sealed beam auxiliary lighting with chrome brass housings dating back to the 1940s.
Rear auxiliary reversing lights - great for backing up at night with a trailer.
Tiny rear red bullet lights - 2 per side - on the bumper because pimptastic.
Pintle hitch.
Stickers? The names of the universities that my kids attended. Also a couple of paleontological dig stickers.
Fabric half doors.
Self-recovery gear stored inside the hollow of the spare tire. Hi-Lift jack mounted on trailer fender.
Peep outside rear view mirrors.
Chrome aftermarket air cleaner because pimptastic.
Around 140,000 miles. I purchased this Jeep many years ago as abandoned property for $175. It was a total mess, but it ran.
The black paint is original and has dent and scratch patina.

2.5Liter, AX-5, Dana 30/50
Previous owner added 31x10.5 Goodrich tires and light bar.
I think the bumper is from the dealership.

Several owners starting in Pennsylvania, Colorado and then four in Texas.

I bought it from a kid who ran it out of oil when the pressure sending unit failed and purged all the oil. He didn't know what the knocking sound was.

Total engine rebuild with original main items and new internal parts that were trashed. AX-5 got new synchros, bearings, and seals. 300 miles since rebuild was completed and it runs like new.
Center frame repair due to rust around the nutserts.

Still needs a top and radio.

4.2L, Auto Trans, Tilt Column, Factory side steps and sound bar, NP207 transfer case, KDX mirrors, Dana 35 non c-clip with LSD. Dana 30 front, 3:55 gears. CJ console and battery tray(from factory). Easy entry seats on both sides. Intermittent wipers.

We call this Jeep Daisy. The first time we ever took it for a ride it had no passenger front seat so the wife sat in the back. We joked about driving miss daisy. We have two YJ's so they need names, Daisy stuck to this one.

I bought this from @Chrisnvegas in May of 19. He purchased it from a guy in Lake Havasu Arizona. Due to it Southwest heritage it is very rust free and original. The BBDII system is fully intact and functional. The suspension is stock. The only mods are the 30x9:50 tires and a blower motor upgrade.

It took me about a year to find the correct OE style mirrors for it. It came from the factory with KDX mirrors for certain. They are listed as export or soft top mirrors and appear to have been pretty rare. It is a very early 87, it was built in June of 86 so some things on it carry over from a CJ such as the battery tray and console.

Over the past year I have done a lot of fuel system and tune up work, gaskets, seals, water pump, belts, hoses, heater core, blower motor, CAD vacuum harness, speedo cable and gear, tore down steering column to clean and lube, cleaned cluster ribbons and connections, replaced the seat belts, etc, etc.

The plan for it is to keep it stock and eventually restore it to showroom new condition. There is no hurry, it gets a lot of attention with the patina it has and I am still building the 94. The frame and components underneath are in incredible condition. Not something that we are used to in the salt belt.

1987 YJ

My rig is basically a '89 YJ although it is a rebuilt title as a '84 CJ7. The wiper motor, bracket, and VIN are all original '84 CJ7. The body and power train are all '89 YJ with a 4.2L and AX-15 transmission. Axles are the stock Dana 30 & 35 but based on the brakes are '90 or slightly newer. The ID tags are missing. Bumpers are from a 2000 TJ and it has 2 inch receiver hitches front and rear.

Modifications include 6 inch shackles all around on stock springs; CRT distributor; a new non-stepper Carter BBD carb; and a replacement charcoal cannister from a BMW F650 motorcycle. Tires are 31 X 10.50 X 15 on 8 inch wide directional sawblade alloy rims. Slightly wider Bushwhacker flares to cover the tires. Accessories include a gray full soft top, black bikini top, half doors with soft uppers, gray trail cover, and tube doors.

Bought this Jeep about 10 years ago just for fun. Immediately removed the 3 inch body lift in favor of stock body pucks. Using info gleaned from this excellent forum slowly and steadily went through the rig pulling and derusting the dash and cleaning up electrics going to the gauges and some underhood wiring. Painted over the faded factory blue with good old rattle can satin olive. Added little touches over time like the engine mods which paid off big in eliminating pesky knocking and pinging on acceleration, and the two receiver hitches to deal with moving different trailers around in sometimes confined spaces. More mods are on the list such as changing out the lift shackles for stock length greasable shackles and 2.5 inch lift springs. Parts are on hand and just waiting for cooler weather over the winter season.

That's the story of my "Hillbilly Hot Rod".

31 inch tires.
Only modifications are a custom rear bumper and lift shackles that I believe are 1.5 inch lift that came with the Jeep
Her name is Constance and I bought her for everything. Commuter, camping, trail riding...

2.5L 5 Speed

Mods include other then fixing whats broken with new/better parts:
Spray on bed liner tub
Bluetooth radio as others have been stolen
2 inch Zone off road lift

31" BFG KO2 on Tactic 15"x 8" d window wheels
100 Watt KC Daylighters with covers
Jurassic Park vehicle #10 plate
Factory hard top

How this came to be. This was previously owned by my father in-law who occasionally drove this around the beaches of Brigantine, NJ. When we visited for holidays and other family events I always asked him about it. One day he called me out of the blue and asked If I would buy it for $11.00. I loaded up the wife and some tools and was out the door before I hung up the phone. 3 years later here we are. The jeep needed allot of work and has left me on the side of the road several times but that's what love is right?

1991 YJ Renegade

-Specifications and modifications: Laredo package with Softtop & half doors, Hardtop & full doors, bikini top, aircon, real wood dashboard and door inserts, BBS wheels with 31's, Renegade package.

I bought my first 2.5 YJ new in 1990 and traded it in for a new 4.0 in 1991. I had a lot of fun with it, but then life started and the Jeep had to go in 1995. I've always regretted it and every now and then I looked at some car sites to see if a nice one came up. I came across a very clean one in Germany while browsing the web in 2017. A couple of days and a 1000 mile trip later, it somehow ended up in our driveway
It's a '91 4.0 Laredo package with 68K kms (42K miles) and it has a couple of typical German options from that era. It was factory fitted with 3-piece BBS wheels, a stunning real wooden dash kit and shift knobs, 2 tone steering wheel, aircon (untypical actually) and height adjustable seat belts.
A hardtop, soft top and bikini top were included. I bought a set of half doors this summer. Also ordered a new set of decals, but haven't put them on yet.

Most folks don't like the Renegade package, but I do, so when one came up for sale I just had to have it. Renegades have never officially been imported in Europe so this is an extremely rare find. I know of only 1 other Renegade in Belgium.

I'm so happy I finally have a YJ again, makes me feel as if it it 1991 all over again. Only difference is that back then I was young and beautiful, and now only beautiful, LOL.

Few thousand bucks and a lot of time and it can be as stock as new!

Or you can just buy one with that few thousand and have the best of both worlds.

We all love stock jeeps, hence why I threw in honourable mentions that either did not enter this time around, or account has been inactive for a little while.

That all depends on the quality of the burger. In this case... we are looking at a premium fast food burger.
