My build is going forward awfuly slow but still forward. I will not be wheeling this thing when finished. I bought a set of stainless braided front brake lines from Qtech but they are long and will need lots of clamping to keep them off the tires. Since I won't be flexing this is anyone running 100% stock lines? I have read about rerouting but I like to keep things stock when possible. I would like any input before I spend more money. As the build goes on I seem to have quite a pile of new parts that I have decided not to use because they wouldnt work as I anticipated.
I'm running ome 2.5 with stock lines.. They get a little snug but work. (did have to relocate a bit) well the jeep was on a lift and all the lines were OK. I haven't tried flexing it all the way yet. Don't have disconnect sway bars yet.. I'm still using stock sways.
If you want SS braided lines, all three flex lines on Amazon are under $85 total. For all three. Might be less; fronts like $50-$55, rear like $30 I think.
I like the way the original flex lines have the hard line coming up from the caliper, it just clears everything better in my opinion. I also bought a new Classic Tube stainless line kit. I'm thinking about adding about 4 inches to the OEM hard line and making a bracket just a little lower on the frame to mount the OEM flex line to. In my mind anyway I think I can make a neat and clean relocation and have a couple more inches of movement. I have seen many lifts where the lines were whipping around rubbing on tires or getting pinched in the knuckle. I'll post pics as it comes together. Thanks for all the input
My plan was to do the same thing and just add a few inches to stock lines, but in the end I ended up putting new SS braided lines. I actually had to replace all of the hard lines in jeep as well, they were all rusted badly and just needed replacing.
Looks as if there are numerous ways to get this done. All a matter of personal preference I guess. During this build I have reworked several mods because when I got done I said to myself I can do this better now that I have gotten into it.
Obviously it's at full drop, when I turn it left to right all looks good, when I put what weight there is at this point of the build the flex line looks good. I'm just not sure of what it will look like at full weight. It's a stock flex line and I picked up 4 inches of travel. Any input would be appreciated.

You can look up crown part# 7425. I bought my stainless lines (3) for $60 and they are long enough to where I can fully flex out my YJ and still have plenty of slack on 4.5" lift
