New FPR short life ?

Hay
On tuesday I installed a new fpr because of a cold start problem, as sugusted to me buy a forum member and it worked first start no prob untill saterday morn, it was just like as described in my first thread i posted Could i have a faulty fpr Should i have gone to Jeep and got one Of course O'reilly is closed on sunday. It would be nice to know if these fpr's can be bad out of the box and or crap out in just a few days. 1995 wrangler 2.5l reo grande first post under "cold start problem"

Check your fuel pressure. You might have replaced a part but the part wasn't the problem to begin with. You can get a guage through the tool loan program from any of the parts stores including O'reilly.

Fuel pressure is 31lbs with vacume hose hooked up and 39lbs unpluged borrowed a press guage from my neighbor.

You need to see how long it will hold pressure even you turn it off. It should maintain pressure above 20 psi for 20 minutes. It's a very important part of the test.

pressure test leak down

I did just that tonight and when I shut the jeep off pressure drops instantly and keeps going down past 20Lbs in a matter of 2 minutes.

There is a bad check valve at the fuel pump. Well they are built into the pump
