Need some help with a harmonic balancer

Hey I have a 88 yj with a 4.2 serpentine belt. I had a oil leak at the balancer so I pulled it off to find a health grove on it. I though about a sleeve but for $25 more I bought a balancer for a 4.0. The problem is that the dorman balancer sets in about 1 grove to far causing the belt to squeak and not line up right. Am I missing something on why it doesn't line up right. The oil leak is gone now but the squeak is tough to live with. Lol

You bought the 4.0 harmonic balancer, that's your problem. They are different parts.

258 Balancer: https://www.bjsoffroad.com/Harmonic-...ed_p_1802.html
258 Balancer: https://www.morris4x4center.com/vibr...r-3242886.html

According to Morris it's the same balancer found on the 4-cylinder engine.

The 4th 5-seater YJ in the world.

I was under the impression that the balancers were inter-changeable. Thank you for letting me know, I've got one on order now.
