my dana 30 CAB will not take national seal 710068

did the 1 piece shaft swap and have ruined atleast 4 seals on the passenger side. it will not take. drivers side went easy using a long pipe and the hammering method

I have tried tapping in and also the threaded rod method to suck the seal in and it will not take. I have wasted 4 or 5 seals and I am tired of it. anybody else have issues with this trying a 1 piece shaft swap?

Which seal? You don't need the CAD seal when you swap to the 1-piece axle shaft (I did the 1-piece swap because I kept on ruining the seals trying to install them even using the correct seal tool)

I just did the swap, and used the Napa #11800 seal for the passenger side of the pumpkin. Went in with no issues.

Edit: I just looked up the part number in your title, and the results I got are the drivers side seal (http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/n...0068/3270947-P)

That won't fit the passenger side. You need Napa #11800, and install it in on the pass. side of the pumpkin

Yup - you need the Napa 11800 installed in the pumpkin on the passengers side.

Is it normal that there doesn't appear to be a race
For the seal to seat into in the passenger side? It's just and axle tube, like there is nothing for t to actually stop on.

wasnt trying to be offensive, looks like a friendly employee! I would shop there but I don't know of one around here.

back to the jeep axle seals; I just got a national 710068 in the drivers side and a napa 11800 in the passenger side. going to grease the splines now and slide in the shafts carefully. then ill wait for the rtv on the cover to dry, add some gear oil, and pray for the best.

No worries, understood. Bit of a drive you though.

Middle daughter. Drives/wheels a TJ and is studying to be an orthopedic surgeon. Plays mid/defense soccer at college and works at AA when she can.

She can and will hurt you.
