Low fuel pressure

So I put in my fuel cell and I’m not getting very much fuel pressure at the rail only like 20 psi. I looked at the wires and for some reason I had to ground out the gauge wire for the pump to run. I’m confused on why I did that for one lol and two why that would be keeping my Jeep from running and possibly getting enough pressure

How do you have your fuel lines connected?

The lines are from the assembly through the floor to the fuel rail

I also took the line off the filter and had a buddy cycle the key twice and not very much gas came out maybe about 1/2 or less a inch in the bottom of a medium size bottle. I think the pump I got was trash (it’s spectrum from autozone, I know I know I was in a hurry and made a stupid move) but now I’m hoping that the pump is the issue and that putting a external pump or new assembly will fix it. I’m pretty sure the wires in the old assembly were messed up. And if they weren’t before they are now lol

I would double check make sure nothing is pinched or loose. But it sounds like your pump. At least over the internet.

You answered your own question.... You have a crappy fuel pump ground.

You need to fill out your profile or give info on what year and powertrain you are running to get better answers.

If you cannot fix it with a hammer then it has to be an electrical problem.
