I want to get a reman’ed engine just due to time constraints. But 4.88 sounds like a winner.

Greg, I was told Arizona Driveshaft and Differential was a good outfit. Have you heard of them?

Yes I would. I looked at Golem but not sure I want to drop $5k on it just yet. I still need to fix my springs and 8.8 pinion. But I need a motor.

Here is how I broke my rear driveshaft…

I should have stuck to the yellow arrows, no doubt about that. When you start bouncing things tend to break…weird.

Hey Louie, thanks for the pics and video! Cool! I guess now you know why we've all been yapping so much about going!

Yeah, Cowboy climb is a biatch. It takes speed and good rubber. Did'nt get up it last year/trip, but this year I put it in 3rd and hit the skinny pedal and made it happen. So I can scratch that one of the list. Same with tip over. But still chickened out on hells gate! I know it's very do-able, but it is just a mind over matter thing. lol. Congrats on making it look easy!
Suks on having to wrench on the Jeep when you're there, but at least you got it going again. Towed mine home to fix the broken shaft, but got the RCV's in there now and ready to hit it again! Gave it a little test run on the Dusy/Ershim trail a few weeks back (did'nt run the whole trail) and everything seemed to work well. We'll see how spring plays out for Moab... should be do-able.

So I’m thinking my pinion bearing isn’t critical just yet. I gave it another look and it can wait for a bit. I want to get Deaver springs and a new motor now. Then steering will be on the agenda.

When you have them made Louie ask if they will add a torque leaf on the pack as well to help with axle wrap.
